All our woven products use hand-clipped fleece from our sheep. The fleeces are sent in bags on the open deck of a local boat to the main island of Orkney, from where they are sent to Lanarkshire to be spun in a Victorian mill.
Once the fleece has been made into yarn, it goes to Speyside (where many of the great whisky distilleries are), to be woven at a small weaving mill on handlooms. The Throw designs are inspired by the blankets that went to Canada for the Hudson Bay company.
Some of our wool is dyed to match the colours of seaweed that we find on the beach, and used in the design detail.
These pure wool throws are incredibly soft and very cosy. Use one to cuddle up under on winter nights or throw one over your sofa for an added touch of style.
